If you want to originate and be paid on your closed loans with United Home Loans, you will need to sign up as a mortgage loan originator (MLO) and obtain your MLO license.
You will have the ability to operate as either a loan officer or a loan officer assistant. But you don’t need to choose now – you decide how role and level of involvement on a loan-by-loan basis.
In order to be paid on loans you originate or assist in originating for your client you’ll need to obtain a National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) license. We guide you through the necessary training steps to get licensed to become a mortgage loan originator.
We’ll collect some information about you to complete an employment application, create your account, verify your licensing, and perform a background check. Qualified candidates will move on to sign a work agreement and fill out the relevant tax forms.
Additional specialized training is provided whether you are planning to operate as a loan officer or a loan officer assistant.
Once you’re all set with licensing and onboarding, you’ll be able to start home loans for your clients, whether they want to buy a home, refinance or take out a 2nd mortgage. Our user-friendly technology makes it simple to guide your clients through the application one question at a time, even if you’re not very familiar with the origination process. Once you submit the application, you'll be able to track its progress all the way to close.
As a Loan Officer Assistant, our experienced mortgage team will perform the qualification and pricing activities for you and your client, and help you get you to closing as efficiently as possible.
Once you’re licensed to originate mortgages, you’ll be compensated for every closed loan that you submit, whether you operate as a loan officer or a loan officer assistant.

Yes! Our team of mortgage experts (loan officers and processors) from all areas of the business are ready to help you every step of the way. This includes onboarding, training, licensing, loan origination, referring clients and more. You can access our support team by phone, email or text.
Background checks are a standard part of the United Home Loans onboarding process and is required for all loan officers and loan officer assistants. This background check is in addition to the background check which is required as part of new state licensing requirements.
You will be paid on a monthly basis on any of the loans that closed and completed the required compliance checks. You will be paid through a direct deposit, based upon the instructions provided during the onboarding process. Your monthly pay will also include any residual income from the closed and compliance checked loans from your team
Compensation is based on the loan amount and the role you played (loan officer or loan officer assistant) for each loan you closed. All compensation details will be explained in your specific work agreement.
Yes! When you sign up, you’ll have access to United Home Loans branded marketing materials, including logos, flyers, product emails, social media posts, and business cards (if applicable), window signs and more.
Yes! There’s no limit to how many states you can originate loans in. If you are operating as a loan officer, you simply need to be licensed in each state you plan to close loans in. When operating as a loan officer assistant, however, you do not need additional state licensing to be paid on closed loans, as long as United Home Loans is licensed in that state.
